SYMPTOMS

When a user opens an e-mail message that contains right-to-left Unicode characters in Microsoft Office Outlook, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service stops responding in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.

Note Right-to-left Unicode characters are used to display text in languages such as Hebrew and Arabic.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Prerequisites

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart your computer after you apply this hotfix. However, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service and all dependent services will be restarted.
