APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007
SYMPTOMS
You use Excel Web Access to view a Microsoft Office Excel workbook in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. When you do this, some Date Filter and Value Filter commands in a PivotTable may be unavailable.
CAUSE
This issue occurs if the following conditions are true:
- The PivotTable was created in Microsoft Office Excel 2003.
- The PivotTable was published to Excel Services in SharePoint Server 2007 by using Microsoft Office Excel 2007.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, refresh the data connection. To do this, open the Excel workbook in a Web browser, click Update, and then click Refresh Selected Connection or Refresh All Connections.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
MORE INFORMATION
When you work in compatibility mode in Excel 2007, and then save an Excel workbook as a file that has an .xlsx or .xlsb file name extension, the PivotTable.PivotCache.UpgradeOnRefresh property is set to true. When the PivotTable.PivotCache.UpgradeOnRefresh property is set to true, the Date Filter and Value Filter commands are available after the data connection is refreshed.
If you write a batch conversion program to convert Excel 2003 files to Excel 2007 files, set the PivotTable.PivotCache.UpgradeOnRefresh property to true. After you do this, the Date Filter and Value Filter commands are available after the data connection is refreshed.
