When you apply the hotfix, make sure that the REINSTALL=ALL switch and the REINSTALLMODE=vomus switch are set. For example, use the following command line when you install this hotfix:
Msiexec /P Communicator.msp REINSTALL=ALL REINSTALLMODE=vomus
When you do this, the hotfix will be applied correctly across all supported operating systems.
