SYMPTOMS

You change the format for a date field in a Microsoft Office Groove 2007 Forms tool. After you do this, you cannot add new fields to the form.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, create a new date field by using the format that you want, and then add the new date field to the form. Do this instead of changing the format of the date field in the Forms tool.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

MORE INFORMATION

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. In a Groove 2007 Forms tool, open the Designer.
  2. Under Fields, click Create New Field.
  3. Under Select Field Type, select Date, and then click Next.
  4. Enter a label, and then click Finish.
  5. Under Forms, click Create New Form.
  6. Select the new date field and any other fields that you want, and then click Save.
  7. Under Views, click Create New View.
  8. Select the new date field and any other fields that you want, and then click Save.
  9. Click Publish Sandbox.
  10. On the View menu, click Go To Designer.
  11. Under Fields, click the date field, click Formatting, click to select the Long Date Format check box, and then click Finish.
  12. Click Publish Sandbox.

At this point, you cannot add new fields to the form. You must create a new form instead.
