Error message when you try to create a new blog post in Word 2007: "Microsoft Office Word needs VBA macro language support to complete this action"

SYMPTOMS

You try to create a new blog post in Microsoft Office Word 2007. When you do this, you may receive an error message that resembles the following error message:

Microsoft Office Word needs VBA macro language support to complete this action. This feature is not installed. Would you like to install it now?

To verify this error message, press CTRL+SHIFT+I. The following number is displayed in the lower-right corner of the error message dialog box:

CAUSE

This problem occurs when Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications is not installed on the computer. For example, this problem can occur if you selected the Installed on First Use option when you installed the 2007 Microsoft Office programs.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install Visual Basic for Applications. To do this, click Yes when you receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, click No when you receive the message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section.

Note If you click No, you can post blogs to your blog service provider. However, the error message will appear when you try to create a new blog post.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
