SUMMARY

This article describes how to add iTunes content to your Zune music collection.

MORE INFORMATION

You can easily add clear (unprotected) content from your iTunes library to your Zune collection. However, you cannot add any content that you have purchased from iTunes to your Zune collection because the iTunes content has Digital Rights Management protection.

If your iTunes library is located in the folders that you have specified the Zune software to monitor, the content is automatically added to your Zune collection.

If your iTunes library resides in an unmonitored folder, and it does not automatically migrate to your Zune collection, you must manually add your iTunes folder to the list of monitored folders.

To add a folder to the Zune collection, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Zune software.
  2. Click Settings, and then make sure that Software is selected.
  3. The Zune software displays a list of the monitored folders that it checks for new media files. To add a folder to the list, click Add Folder in the Music section, select the folder that you want to add, and then click OK.
  4. Click OK.

Note If you add a folder that is located on a removable drive, and if that drive is later removed, the Zune software automatically removes that folder content from the collection.

For more information about how to add items to the Zune collection and about the available advanced options, see Help in the Zune software.
