PRB: Changes to Column Widths in Table Design Grid Not Saved Article ID: Q92813 Creation Date: 16-NOV-1992 Revision Date: 19-SEP-1996 The information in this article applies to: Microsoft Access versions 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 7.0 SYMPTOMS Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers. When you change the column widths in Datasheet view of a table, Microsoft Access automatically saves the change to the column widths. In a table's Design view, however, if you change the Design view grid's column widths, Microsoft Access does not save the change when the form is closed. CAUSE Microsoft Access does not support saving the column width of the Design view grid of a table. STATUS This behavior is by design. MORE INFORMATION Steps to Reproduce Behavior Open a table in Design view. Adjust the column width of the Field Name column (or one of the other columns). Exit the table. Return to the table in Design view. Note that the width has returned to its original state.
