APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Solution for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration 3.5

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Solution for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration (HMC) 3.5, some provisioning operations may take an unexpectedly long time to finish. In some cases, the operations may take 1 minute to finish.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the following behavior occurs:

  • The GUIDToLDAP procedure calls a long-running Active Directory Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) request.
  • The GUIDToLDAP procedure tries to locate a Microsoft Exchange store.

In an environment that uses many Exchange stores, the provisioning operation may take a long time to locate the Exchange stores.

RESOLUTION
