Important This article contains information about editing the metabase. Before you edit the metabase, verify that you have a backup copy that you can restore if a problem occurs. For information about how to do this, see the "Configuration Backup/Restore" Help topic in Microsoft Management Console (MMC).

SYMPTOMS

When you perform a query from ProClarity Analytics Server Standard Client version 5.3, version 6.0, version 6.1, or version 6.2, you receive the following error message:

There is a problem with the data associated with this client action. One known cause of this problem is that you did not wait for results from a previous action before issuing another client action. Click the back button and try again.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because of an incorrect setting in Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0. The default maximum data request size is 204,800 bytes. This problem occurs if a query exceeds this maximum data request size.

RESOLUTION

Warning If you edit the metabase incorrectly, you can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall any product that uses the metabase. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems that result if you incorrectly edit the metabase can be solved. Edit the metabase at your own risk.

Note Always back up the metabase before you edit it.

To resolve this problem, set the value of the AspMaxRequestEntitiyAllowed parameter in the IIS metabase to a larger value.

Note If you edit the metabase incorrectly, the server that is running IIS may become unstable. Or the server may stop functioning. Additionally, slow performance may occur if you increase the data request size.

For more information about how to edit the metabase for IIS 6.0, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
