Error message when you try to connect to a cube server in ProClarity Web Professional or in ProClarity Desktop Professional: "Unspecified error"

SYMPTOMS

When you try to connect to a cube server in ProClarity Web Professional or in ProClarity Desktop Professional, you receive the following error message:

Unspecified error.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, disable the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration option.

Note By default, the option is enabled on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer.

To disable this option, follow these steps:

  1. In Control Panel, open Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
  3. In the Windows Components Wizard dialog box, click to clear the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration check box.
  4. Click Next, and then click Finish.
  5. Restart ProClarity Web Professional or ProClarity Desktop Professional.

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Make sure that the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration check box is selected in the Windows Components Wizard dialog box.
  2. On the File menu, click Open Cube.
  3. In the Connect dialog box, type a cube server name in the Server field, and then click OK.
