This article describes how to determine whether you have a trial edition of a 2007 Microsoft Office suite or program installed on the computer.

The Microsoft 2007 Office System Downloadable Trial is a limited duration trial. The duration of the trial varies depending on the 2007 Office suite or program that you want to evaluate. The following Microsoft 2007 Office System Downloadable Trials will be available on December 1, 2006:

• Microsoft Office Professional 2007
• Microsoft Office Small Business 2007
• Microsoft Office Standard 2007
• Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007
• Microsoft Office Groove 2007
• Microsoft Office OneNote 2007
• Microsoft Office Project Standard 2007
• Microsoft Office Publisher 2007
• Microsoft Office Accounting Professional & Express 2007 (U.S. only)
• Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2007
• Microsoft Office Visio Standard 2007

There is no product support for trial versions. When the trial period ends, the trial version goes into reduced-functionality mode. You can convert the trial version to the full version without removing or reinstalling software.

To determine whether you have a trial edition of a 2007 Office suite or program installed

For 2007 Office programs that do not use the Ribbon, follow these steps:

1. Start the 2007 Office program.
2. On the Help menu, click About Microsoft Office Program_Name to open the About Microsoft Office Program_Name dialog box.

The product information appears at the top of the About Microsoft Office Program_Name dialog box.

For 2007 Office programs that use the Ribbon, follow these steps:

1. Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Program_Name Options.
2. In the left pane, click Resources.
3. Click About to open the About Microsoft Office Program_Name dialog box.

The product information appears at the top of the About Microsoft Office Program_Name dialog box.

Note If a trial edition is installed, the About Microsoft Office Program_Name dialog box displays a product name that resembles the following:

Microsoft Office Program_Name 2007 Trial

If you are using a trial edition, the 2007 Office program title bar displays Microsoft Program_Name (Trial). Additionally, in Add or Remove Programs, the trial edition is listed as Microsoft Office Program_Name 2007 Trial in the list of currently installed programs.

Note When you convert a trial edition of a 2007 Office suite or program to a perpetual license, the word "trial" is no longer included in the suite or program name in either the title bar of the program or the About Microsoft Office Program_Name dialog box. However, the suite or program is still listed as a 2007 Office trial product in Add or Remove Programs.
