SYMPTOMS

When the VASAdapter Web service receives a negative acknowledgement (NACK) response from a session in the Microsoft Connected Services Framework, the VASAdapter Web service logs a blank Error event in the event log.

Note You expect the VASAdapter Web service to log the details of the error in the event log. You expect the event message to include the reason for the error.

Hotfix installation instructions

When you apply this hotfix, this hotfix puts files on the destination computer. You must manually replace the existing Connected Services Framework files by using the files from this hotfix. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. In Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), stop the VASAdapter application pool.
  2. Stop the VASAdapter Web service.
  3. Copy the Microsoft.Csf.Sbe.Billing.dll file that is included in the hotfix package to the following folders:
    • InstallDir:\BillingSBE\IptvWebService\Bin
    • InstallDir:\BillingSBE\VASAdapterService\Bin
    • InstallDir:\BillingSBE\BillingSBERuntime\Bin
    • InstallDir:\BillingSBE\BillingSBERuntimeService\Bin
    • InstallDir:\BillingSBE\IPTVPoller\Bin
    • InstallDir:\BillingSBE\MockBilling\Bin
  4. Copy the Microsoft.Csf.Sbe.Billing.VasAdapter.dll file that is included in the hotfix package to the following folders:
    • InstallDir:\BillingSBE\IptvWebService\Bin
    • InstallDir:\BillingSBE\VASAdapterService\Bin
  5. Start the VASAdapter Web service.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

MORE INFORMATION

This hotfix adds a new error code for the CSFSessionNackResponse method in the VASAdapter Web service. The new error code is logged in the event log. Additionally, the event log includes the details of the error. The new error code is 78014, and the description of the new error code is as follows: Failed to get Acknowledgement from Session
