Session Summary

In this webcast we will discuss about the integration of fulltext catalogs into the database engine backup, restore, attach and detach mechanisms. We will also discuss about some of the common issues that you will encounter when you perform backup/restore and attach/detach of database which have fulltext data being referenced. Also we will discuss about the several interfaces (TSQL commands and DMVs) that are available for you to understand and use some of these features. At the end we will provide some information on upgrade issues and additional reference materials.

This is a Level 200 session that was recorded September 6, 2006 and presented by Suresh B. Kandoth. Suresh is an escalation engineer with the Microsoft SQL Server Escalation Services group. He has been with Microsoft for more than five years working on SQL Server technologies. Suresh has in-depth experience on several Microsoft Windows server products and enjoys supporting customers and debugging the toughest and challenging problems.
