APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003

SYMPTOMS

When you run the Active Directory System Discovery method in Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003, the method runs as expected. However, when you right-click a discovered object, and then you click Properties, an incorrect organizational unit name appears in the Discovery data list of the ObjectName Properties dialog box.

You experience this problem if the organizational unit contains a comma in its name. For example, pretend that the following organizational unit is configured in the Active Directory directory service:

Example.com\OU-1\OU-2\OU, 3

In this scenario, OU, 3 appears next to SystemOUName in the Discovery data list. You expect Example.com\OU-1\OU-2\OU, 3 to appear next to SystemOUName in the Discovery data list.
