SYMPTOMS

If the "Shadow Copies for Shared Folders" feature is enabled on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, the computer may run out of paged pool memory.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the snapshot dismount process does not free all the allocated paged pool memory after the server service opens handles to snapshot objects. The memory leak occurs when the oldest snapshots are deleted to make room for new snapshots during the snapshot dismount process.
