SYMPTOMS

When you view the debug log for the Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Calendar Connector for Lotus Notes add-in task, you may find the following message:

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the first Microsoft Exchange user name starts with a space. The space cannot correctly be resolved in the address book.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install the January 2007 Web Release of the Calendar Connector for Lotus Notes. To obtain this update, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

After you apply the update to Exchange 2003, you must copy the Excalcon.exe file from the Exchange server to the Lotus Notes server. To update the Excalcon.exe file, stop and then restart the task. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Run the following command on the Lotus Notes server to stop the task.

    Tell excalcon quit

  2. Run the following command on the Lotus Notes server to restart the task.

    Load excalcon exchange server name Exchange.box

    Note In this command, exchange server name is a placeholder for the name of the Exchange server.

Prerequisites

The following must be installed before you apply this update:

  • Lotus Notes Client 6.x

Restart requirement

You must restart the computer after you install this update.

Update replacement information

This update replaces the December 2006 Web Release of the Calendar Connector for Lotus Notes and earlier versions of the Calendar Connector for Lotus Notes.

This problem does not occur if the full name of the Exchange user contains an organizational unit (OU) part. In this situation, the problem does not occur even if the first Exchange user name starts with a space.
