SYMPTOMS

You cannot use kernel caching for page content in a Web application that was built by using Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0. This problem occurs if the URL for the page has query string parameters.

This hotfix adds the enableKernelCacheForVaryByStar configuration parameter to ASP.NET 2.0. The enableKernelCacheForVaryByStar configuration parameter lets you use kernel caching for page content when the URL has query string parameters.

After you apply this hotfix, set the value of the enableKernelCacheForVaryByStar configuration parameter for the application to true.

Note By default, the value of the enableKernelCacheForVaryByStar configuration parameter is false.
