Attach the wireless racing wheel to a table

You can use the wireless racing wheel on your lap or on a table. The table clamp stabilizes the wheel during gameplay. This can be especially convenient when force feedback is enabled.

  • Attach the table clamp

    [GRAPHIC: Attach table clamp]

To attach the table clamp, follow these steps:
    1. Loosen the screw on the clamp and make sure that the quick-release lever on the front of the clamp is open. Then, slide the clamp onto the edge of the table. Be careful not to pinch your fingers.
    2. Hand-tighten the screw until the fit is snug. Do not over tighten the screw. This can damage the table surface.
    3. Push the quick-release lever flat.

Add a power source to the wireless racing wheel

To add a power source to the wireless racing wheel, connect the AC power supply to a standard wall outlet. Or, insert batteries in the wireless racing wheel. When the wireless racing wheel is connected to AC power, the wheel will continue to use wireless signals for gameplay.

Note To experience force feedback, you must use AC power.

To connect to AC power, insert the power supply cord in the power input on the back of the wireless racing wheel as far as the cord will go. Connect the AC power cord to the power supply as far as the cord will go. Connect the power cord to a standard wall outlet.

Electrical safety

As with many other electrical devices, failure to take the following precautions can result in serious injury or death from electric shock or fire and can damage the wireless racing wheel.

Use an AC power source

If you use AC power, select an appropriate power source.

  • The power input for the wireless racing wheel is 24V DC at 1A. Only use the power supply and AC power cord that came with the wireless racing wheel or that you received from an authorized repair center.
  • Even if the voltage and frequency appear acceptable, do not use non-standard power sources, such as generators or inverters. Only use AC power that is provided by a standard wall outlet.

To avoid damaging the AC power cord, follow these guidelines:

  • Protect the cord from being pinched or sharply bent. This is especially important at the point where the cord connects to the power outlet and to the wireless racing wheel.
  • Do not jerk, knot, sharply bend, or otherwise abuse the power cord.
  • Do not expose the power cord to sources of heat.
  • When you disconnect the power cord, pull the plug. Do not pull the cord.
  • If the power cord becomes damaged in any way, stop using it immediately and contact Xbox Customer Support for a replacement.
  • Unplug the wireless racing wheel during a lightning storm or during a long storage time.

Insert the batteries

Disposable battery safety

Incorrect use of batteries may result in battery fluid leakage, overheating, or explosion. There is a risk of fire if you replace batteries with an incorrect type. Battery fluid is corrosive and may be toxic. Battery fluid can cause skin and eye burns, and is harmful if swallowed. To help reduce the risk of injury, follow these guidelines:

  • Keep batteries out of reach of children.
  • Do not heat, open, puncture, mutilate, or dispose of batteries in a fire.
  • Use only alkaline batteries, type AA (LR6). Do not mix new batteries with old batteries.
  • Remove the batteries if the batteries are worn out or before you store the controller for an extended period. Do not leave batteries in the AA battery pack when the battery pack is not installed in the racing wheel.
  • If a battery leaks, remove all the batteries in the device. Make sure that you do not let the leaked fluid touch your skin or clothes. If battery fluid contacts your skin or clothes, flush your skin with water immediately. Before you insert new batteries, thoroughly clean the battery compartment with a damp paper towel, or follow the battery manufacturer's recommendations for cleanup.
  • Dispose of batteries in compliance with local and national disposal regulations. These regulations include those who govern the recovery and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).

Follow the instructions to insert batteries.

Note If you use the wireless racing wheel together with an Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack, see the manual that came with the battery pack for important safety information about how to use the battery pack.

To insert batteries in the AA battery pack, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the battery cover from the base of the wireless racing wheel.
  2. Press the tab on the top of the AA battery pack, and then pull down to detach the battery pack from the racing wheel.

    [GRAPHIC: Insert batteries]
  3. Insert two new AA (LR6) batteries in the orientation in which the batteries appear on the underside of the battery cover. For best performance, we do not recommend that you use AA rechargeable batteries.
  4. Slide the AA battery pack back in p and then push in to lock the battery pack.
  5. Replace the battery cover.

Note To help avoid pinching your fingers, push on the flat surface of the battery pack only.

Warning Before you pack the wireless racing wheel in luggage that will be checked on an aircraft, remove any batteries from the racing wheel. When batteries are installed, the wireless racing wheel can transmit radio frequency (RF) energy, much like a cellular telephone.

Notes

  • If you use batteries instead of the AC power supply, force feedback will be disabled.
  • If you use the Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack, the wireless racing wheel will charge the battery pack when the battery pack and the AC power supply are both connected. Charging will not interfere with force feedback.
