Article ID: 927206

Article Last Modified on 8/15/2007

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0

SYMPTOMS

After you install the Finnish version or the Norwegian version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, and you sort a list of entries that contain Finnish or Norwegian characters, the list of entries is not sorted as expected. Finnish or Norwegian characters include Ä, ä, Ö, ö, Å, and å.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the collation of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM database is set to Latin1_General_CI_AS.

Note You expect the collation of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM database to be set to one of the following collations:

  • For the Finnish version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, you expect the collation of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM database to be set to Finnish_Swedish_CI_AS.
  • For the Norwegian version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, you expect the collation of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM database to be set to Danish_Norwegian_CI_AS.

RESOLUTION

This problem is fixed in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Update Rollup 2. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, transfer the Microsoft Dynamics CRM database from the Latin1_General_CI_AS collation in Microsoft SQL Server, as follows:

  • For the Finnish version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, transfer the Microsoft Dynamics CRM database to the Finnish_Swedish_CI_AS collation in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • For the Norwegian version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, transfer the Microsoft Dynamics CRM database to the Danish_Norwegian_CI_AS collation in Microsoft SQL Server.
