INTRODUCTION

This article describes the Allow Computer Management dialog box in Microsoft Office Groove 2007, and describes the consequences of clicking Yes or No in the dialog box.

MORE INFORMATION

When you create a new Groove 2007 account, or log on to an existing Groove 2007 account, you may receive an Allow Computer Management dialog box.

If you click Yes, several features are enabled on the computer. These features were chosen by an administrator for all Groove accounts in the domain. No data or features outside Groove are affected.

If you click No, any features that depend on Groove computer management become inaccessible. Additionally, the Allow Computer Management dialog box is displayed every time that you log on.

Groove computer management may include features that help protect users' accounts and data in addition to features that audit Groove usage. Administrators may require users' computers to be managed. If you decline to allow the computer to be managed in Groove, you may experience the following issues:

  • You may be unable to create an account.
  • Your Groove identity may be disabled.
  • You may be unable to access Groove data.
