PRB: Disabled Buttons Not Visible with ATI 1280x1024

Article ID: Q92701
Creation Date: 12-NOV-1992
Revision Date: 19-SEP-1996 The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Access versions 1.0 and 1.1

SYMPTOMS

When you are using an ATI Ultra Card with the ATI 1280x1024 video driver, disabled buttons within Microsoft Access are not visible. This does not apply to push buttons that you create on a form, only to buttons that are part of Microsoft Access.

RESOLUTION

Use one of the video drivers supplied with Microsoft Windows, or obtain new video drivers from ATI. As of March 3, 1994, the latest drivers available from ATI are version 2.2, and can be obtained from the ATI Bulletin Board Service at (905) 764-9404. You need to download the following files:

  • M32W22.ZIP (the video drivers)
  • LOADER.ZIP (the installation program for the drivers)

MORE INFORMATION

This behavior occurs only with Microsoft Access buttons and not with user- created buttons because the "text" of the two types of buttons is different. With Microsoft Access buttons, the text is actually text, and with user-defined buttons the text is actually a bitmap.

The ATI video card and drivers are manufactured by a vendor independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding these products' performance or reliability.
