This article describes the Microsoft Office Access 2003 issue that is fixed in the Access 2003 post-Service Pack 2 hotfix package that is dated October 17, 2006.

Issue that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

  • Consider the following scenario. In Access 2003, you open the Visual Basic Editor, and then open a VBA module. You click Find on the Edit menu. You then use the Input Method Editor (IME) to type a DBCS character in the Find what box in the Find dialog box. You click Find Next.


In this scenario, the DBCS character is replaced by a full-width character in the Find what box.
