SYMPTOMS
You add a column to a content type template in Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. Additionally, you click Yes under Update all content types inheriting from this type on the Site Content Type Advanced Settings page. When you view the Column list in the content type template on the child site, the list is not updated with the column that you added on the parent site.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 parent site does not push the change to content type templates on Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 child sites that do not contain the new column. However, content type templates are updated successfully on child sites that already contain the new column.
