SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You use Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 with a Personal Folders file (.pst). Additionally, either you have added the .pst file to your Microsoft Exchange Server profile, or you are using the .pst file as the default delivery location for incoming e-mail messages. In this scenario, when you flag an item or create a task that is located in the .pst file, the flagged items are not displayed on the To-Do Bar. Additionally, reminders that you have set for items in the .pst file are not fired successfully.

Note The most common situation in which you use a .pst file as the default delivery location is when you use a POP3 account.

CAUSE

By default, flagged items are not displayed in the To-Do Bar. Additionally, by default, reminders in .pst files are not fired in Outlook 2007.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, click to select the Display reminders and tasks from this folder in the To-Do Bar check box in Outlook 2007. To do this, right-click the personal folder, click Properties, click to select the Display reminders and tasks from this folder in the To-Do Bar check box, and then click OK.
