SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. You use the net use command to connect to a Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) shared folder that is hosted on a server that is running Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. You connect to the WebDAV shared folder as a user who does not have administrator permissions to the site. For example, you connect as a user who has the Read permission. After you connect to the WebDAV shared folder, you use the cd command or the chdir command to change to a subfolder. You notice that you can change to a subfolder even though the subfolder does not exist. When you experience this symptom, you receive the following message at the command prompt:
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
The "HTTP/1.1 200 OK" message incorrectly indicates that the subfolder is a valid subfolder even though it does not exist. You expect to receive a message that resembles the following at the command prompt:
The network name cannot be found
CAUSE
In Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, the PROPFIND method returns an "HTTP/1.1 200 OK" message for subfolders of the root folder. Therefore, even though a subfolder does not exist, you receive the message that states that the folder exists.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
