The hotfix that is discussed in this article is not available for the Chinese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or for the Japanese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

SYMPTOMS

When you try to use the MSCRMFastReassign tool to reassign records from one user to another user in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, you receive the following error message:

Exception: Startindex cannot be less than zero. Parameter Name: startindex.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because there are blank lines in the fn_CollectForCascadeAssign SQL function. Notes

  • The fn_CollectForCascadeAssign SQL function is in the OrganizationName_MSCRM database.
  • The OrganizationName placeholder represents the actual organization name.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install updated hotfix 921235.
