INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to update the sales price of a kit item after you change the price of items that are components of the kit item in Microsoft Office Accounting Professional 2007 or in Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting 2006.

MORE INFORMATION

The sales price of a kit item is the sum of the price of all the components. To update the sales price of a kit item, you have to change the discount amount of the kit item after you change the price of the component items. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. On the Customers menu, point to Customer Lists, and then click Items.
  2. In the item list, double-click the line of the item for which you want to change the sales price.
  3. Type a new price in the Sales price field, and then click Save and Close.
  4. Click Yes if you receive the following message:

This item belongs to one or more kits. Changing the sales price of this item will not change the sales price of the kits. Do you want to continue?

  5. Repeat step 2 through step 4 for each item for which you want to change the sales price.
  6. In the item list, double-click the line of the kit item.

    Notes
    • After this step, the price of the kit item is not changed.
    • The value in the Discount field shows the difference between the old price and the new price.
  7. Type $0.00 in the Discount field, and then click Save and Close.

The new price of the kit item appears in the Sales price field.
