SYMPTOMS

When a Delayed Write Failure event is reported in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, you receive one of the following error messages:

Error message 1


Stop 0x00000019 - BAD_POOL_HEADER

Error message 2


Stop 0xCD PAGE_FAULT_BEYOND_END_OF_ALLOCATION

You receive error message 2 if a special pool feature is enabled.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because a certain driver returns an empty device name to the operating system when a Delayed Write Failure event is reported.

RESOLUTION

Service pack information
