- Microsoft Office Word 2007
SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. You set the 2007 Microsoft Office Language Settings to Chinese, Japanese, or Korean. You open a document in Microsoft Office Word 2007. You change the text direction in the document. To do this, you select a direction in the Text Direction list under Page Setup on the Page Layout tab. You preview a gallery in the document, such as the Bibliography or Cover Page gallery. Then, you change the text direction in the document again. You preview another gallery. You then save the document and exit Word 2007.
When you close the document, Word 2007 prompts you to save the changes that were made to Building Blocks.dotx template.
CAUSE
This issue occurs in a Word 2007 document when you change the text direction because the change turns on the Save flag in the Building Blocks.dotx template. However, changing the text direction in a document does not change the content of the Building Blocks template. Therefore, you do not have to save the Building Blocks.dotx template when you exit Word 2007.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
