SYMPTOMS
A Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004 Transaction Integrator (TI) application may incorrectly call the same Customer Information Control System (CICS) transaction application two times. This problem occurs if the TI application uses the CICS Link programming model to communicate with the CICS transaction application.
Consider the following example. A TI application calls two methods that are named the TI_METHOD1 method and the TI_METHOD2 method. The TI_METHOD1 method is used to communicate with a CICS transaction application that is named the CICS1 transaction application. The TI_METHOD2 method is used to communicate with a CICS transaction application that is named the CICS2 transaction application. When the TI application calls the TI_METHOD1 method and the TI_METHOD2 method, the TI application may call the CICS1 transaction application two times. You expect the TI application to call the CICS1 transaction application first, and then you expect the TI application to call the CICS2 transaction application.
When the TI application calls the same CICS transaction application two times, errors may occur. The errors that occur depend on the CICS transaction application. For example, the following event may be logged in the Application log:
Event ID: 102
Source: COMTI
Description: (102) COM Transaction Integrator reported the following exception to the client:
Component: <ComponentName>
Method: <MethodName>
Exception description: (1562) Parameter Num in method <MethodName>
contained an invalid zoned decimal value.
