INTRODUCTION
This article describes how to notify Microsoft when the Microsoft Advanced Spam Manager SpamCure engine does not identify an unsolicited commercial e-mail message as spam. This is also known as a false negative. Additionally, the article describes how to notify Microsoft when the Advanced Spam Manager SpamCure engine incorrectly identifies a legitimate e-mail message as spam. This is also known as a false positive.

It is most effective to report spam messages as you receive them during the day or night. You must not archive spam messages and then release them one time per day or one time per a week. Most spam messages are time sensitive. If the submissions occur throughout the day, Microsoft can respond to spam messages in a timely manner.
It is preferred that each spam message be forwarded to the mail-filters address so that the Mail Filters team can correctly identify the issue and then correct the definitions. Messages can also be sent individually as an attachment. This procedure gives access to the spam message headers. However, you must not include more than one attached spam message per e-mail message.
To submit a message, use one of the following e-mail addresses, as appropriate for your situation.
- Submit a spam message that is not identified as spam to the following address:
spam.mail-filters@antigen.microsoft.com
- Submit a legitimate message that is incorrectly identified as spam to the following address:
notspam.mail-filters@antigen.microsoft.com
To forward the message, use the Forward command in your e-mail client.
Submitted e-mail messages help Microsoft include the appropriate bullet signatures to the global spam database to help prevent and eliminate spam.
