MORE INFORMATION

Page 111: Incorrect description of negative exponentials

On page 111, the last sentence of the first bullet point reads:

"For example, –1E6 (1 times 10 to the negative sixth power) equals –1,000,000, and is displayed in Excel as 1.00E-06."

It should read:

"For example, 1E-6 (1 times 10 to the negative sixth power) equals 0.000001, and is displayed in Excel as 1.00E-06."

Page 502: 236 should be 536

On page 502, the first sentence of the Note includes an incorrect page reference.

Change:
"For more on using routing slips, see “Routing Workbooks to a Workgroup” on page 236."

To:
"For more on using routing slips, see “Routing Workbooks to a Workgroup” on page 536."

Page 925: Definition for BIN2DEC used in place of BIN2OCT

On page 925, the Description for BIN2OCT reads:

"Converts a binary number to decimal and takes the form =BIN2DEC(number, places), where number is the binary integer you want to convert and places is the number of characters to use. places is useful for padding the return value with leading 0s (zeros)."

It should read:

"Converts a binary number to octal and takes the form =BIN2OCT(number, places), where number is the binary integer you want to convert and places is the number of characters to use. places is useful for padding the return value with leading 0s (zeros)."

Microsoft Press is committed to providing informative and accurate books. All comments and corrections listed above are ready for inclusion in future printings of this book. If you have a later printing of this book, it may already contain most or all of the above corrections.
