SYMPTOMS

Customer migrated users to a new Exchange organization by creating new user accounts in the new org and using Exmerge to export and import the user's data. After this was done, migrated users were unable to update calendar items/meeting requests.

ERROR MESSAGE (If applicable):

You Do Not Have Permission To Send On Behalf Of The Specified User.


ENVIRONMENT:

  • Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2
  • Outlook 2003


CAUSE

Outlook is trying to send an update to users in the calendar item based on their original X500 address.

RESOLUTION

Add X500 address based on original organization to the migrated users to allow for replyability for these old calendar items.

MORE INFORMATION

This additional X500 address will also allow for replyability of old mail that was sent prior to the migration.
