Article ID: 924189

Article Last Modified on 5/21/2007

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 Service Pack 1, when used with:
    • Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 Enterprise Edition
    • Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 Standard Edition

SYMPTOMS

You try to install Live Communications Server 2005 Archiving Service on a computer that is running Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 Service Pack 1 (SP1). When you do this, you receive the following error message:

Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

CAUSE

This issue occurs when hotfix 911996 is installed on the computer. When this hotfix is installed, the file version of the Lcwmi.dll file and the Lctaskhandler.dll file is changed to version 2.0.5470.1028. However, the Archiving Service installation process searches for version 2.0.5470.0 of the Lcwmi.dll file and the Lctaskhandler.dll file.
