APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) Connector Framework (MCF) to connect MOM 2005 to a third-party management platform, alerts are groomed regardless of whether they have been resolved.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when a connector incorrectly changes the TimeResolved field of one or more alerts from NULL to the current time. When a grooming job runs, it checks the value of the TimeResolved field. If the TimeResolved field is not NULL, the job considers the alert to be ready for grooming.
