SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario:
- You store files in the Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 flash file system until the flash file system is almost full.
- You delete all the files in the flash file system.
- You repeat the store action and delete action several times.
In this case, the compactor thread of the flash file system may stop. When this problem occurs, you cannot store files on the flash file system until the flash file system is restarted.

RESOLUTION
Software update information
A supported software update is now available from Microsoft as Windows CE 5.0 Platform Builder Monthly Update (August 2006). You can confirm this by scrolling to the "File information" section of this article. The package file name contains the product version, date, Knowledge Base article number, and processor type. The package file name format is:
Product version-yymmdd-kbnnnnnn-processor type
