SYMPTOMS

When you try to monitor common language runtime (CLR) performance counters on a remote computer that is running a Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1-based application, no CLR performance counters may appear. You experience this problem if the following conditions are true:

  • The application on the remote computer is running in the local computer administrative context.
  • You log on to the local computer by using an account that is not a member of the Administrators group.
  • You are a member of the Performance Monitor Users group and the Perfmon Log Users group on the remote computer.


RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 service pack that contains this hotfix.
