SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. During IPsec session initiation on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 (SP1), IPsec cannot access or download a Certificate Revocation List (CRL). Additionally, IPsec ignores failures in CRL retrievals. In this scenario, IPsec does not generate an event in the Application log as expected.

RESOLUTION

Service pack information

Hotfix information

This hotfix adds an event log entry in the Application log. This entry describes the problem and identifies the CRL server that could not be accessed when IPsec ignores the CRL check process.

Prerequisites
