SYMPTOMS

When you monitor the "% Processor Time" counter of the Terminal Services Session performance object, you see a value of more than 100 percent. For example, the value may be 680 percent. In addition, the graphic view is truncated at 100 percent.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because Microsoft Windows Server 2003 has introduced a new algorithm to calculate counter values from raw data. The issue occurs more frequently when high CPU utilization occurs between the measuring points.

RESOLUTION
