SYMPTOMS
When you click the toolbar buttons in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 client for Microsoft Office Outlook to create the following items, Outlook forms are displayed instead of the expected Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Web forms:
- An appointment
- A task
- A contact
This problem occurs when you synchronize your appointments, your tasks, or your contacts with Outlook.

Installation information
Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.
To enable this hotfix, follow these steps:
- Log on to the computer that is running the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 client for Outlook.
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
- Locate and then select the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Mscrmclient
- On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Type ShowWebForm, and then press ENTER.
- Right-click ShowWebForm, and then click Modify.
- In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
- On the File menu, click Exit.
Notes
- The following values are the acceptable values for the ShowWebForm value data in step 7:
- A value of 1 enables Microsoft CRM Web forms for appointments, for tasks, and for contacts.
- A value of 0 enables Outlook forms for appointments, for tasks, and for contacts.
- The registry entry overrides the Outlook forms so that the Microsoft Dynamics CRM forms are used. After you enable this hotfix, you cannot use a Microsoft CRM Web form for one kind of item but use an Outlook form for another kind of item. To do this, you have to disable synchronization between the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 client for Outlook and Microsoft Outlook.
