The hotfix that is discussed in this article is not available for the Chinese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or for the Japanese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.


SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0:

  • You create a custom entity.
  • You create a relationship between the custom entity and the contract entity.
  • You create mappings between the two entities.
  • You create a contract from the custom entity instance by adding a related contract.

In this scenario, the mappings do not work as expected.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.

Removal information

To remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 client for Microsoft Office Outlook, the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Professional Edition for Service Providers server software, or the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Professional Edition for Service Providers client software, use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. System administrators can use the Spuninst.exe tool to remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 client for Microsoft Office Outlook, the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Professional Edition for Service Providers server software, or the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Professional Edition for Service Providers client software.

The Spuninst.exe tool is located in the %Windir%\$NTUninstallKB919480$\Spuninst folder.
