INTRODUCTION

This article describes how an administrator can manually remove selected language support from the server that is running Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access.

MORE INFORMATION

As an administrator of a server that is running Communicator Web Access, you can add language support by installing the Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access Language Pack.

For more information about the language pack and for download instructions, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

When you install the language pack, support for the following languages is added to Communicator Web Access:

  • Chinese Simplified
  • Chinese Traditional
  • French
  • German
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Spanish

The resource files for these languages are copied to the following location:

drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access\Server\cwa\Client\App_LocalResources

Additionally, the Help files for each language are copied to the following location:

drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access\Server\cwa\Client\Help

Note Each resource file and Help file is named according to the language it supports. For example, the Japanese language resource file is named "Resource.aspx.ja.resources."

To remove the language support for the languages that you do not need, delete the resource file and the folder that contains the Help files that are associated with that language.

Notes

  • Stop the Communicator Web Access Web site before you delete the resource file and the folder that contains the Help files.
  • You can restore language support for deleted languages by adding the resource file and the Help files to their associated file locations.
