SYMPTOMS
A Microsoft COM+ application that calls a Transaction Integrator (TI) component in Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004 or in Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000 may stop responding. Or, this COM+ application may experience an application exception. This problem occurs intermittently. However, this problem is more likely to occur on a computer that is operating under a heavy workload.
When this problem occurs, the Component Services administration tool shows that the call time for the method that calls the TI component is very long. The only way to recover from this problem is to recycle the Dllhost.exe process that hosts the TI component.
When the COM+ application experiences an application exception, an event that resembles the following may be logged in the Application log:

The application, , generated an application error The error occurred on <Date> @ The exception generated was c0000005 at address <MemoryAddress> (<MethodName>)
CAUSE
This problem occurs because TI does not always correctly initialize output-only parameters. An output-only parameter that is incorrectly initialized may cause the heap corruption that causes this problem.
