APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition
  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Express Edition

SYMPTOMS

The position of the Properties window may not be saved after you exit Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 on a dual-monitor system. Consider the following scenario:

  • You are running Visual Studio 2005 on a system that is configured to use two monitors, a primary monitor and a secondary monitor. (If this system is a portable computer, you are using the portable computer's screen as the primary monitor, and you are using an external monitor as the secondary monitor.)
  • You undock the Properties window and move it from the secondary monitor to the primary monitor.
  • You exit Visual Studio 2005.

In this scenario, Visual Studio 2005 does not retain the new position of the Properties window when you restart the program. The window appears where it was located before you undocked and moved it.
