SYMPTOMS

An e-mail discussion thread is sent from Lotus Notes 6 to the Discussion tool in Groove Workspace or in Groove Virtual Office. When this occurs, strings of numbers appear after the subject lines of the replies in the thread.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because of the way in which Lotus Notes 6 creates reply headers. A reply document in Lotus Notes mail contains a document link to the right of the subject. This link brings you to the parent document.

Earlier versions of Lotus Notes dropped this link when they converted the message to text. However, Lotus Notes 6 replaces this link with the link's reference number instead of dropping the link. The string is not demarcated in any way. Therefore, Groove cannot detect and remove the string when Groove receives the converted message from Lotus Notes.
