The hotfix that is discussed in this article is not available for the Chinese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or for the Japanese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
SYMPTOMS
You may experience either of the following problems in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0:
- You try to bulk edit many Contact records or many Account records in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 by using the Advanced Find feature. However, the Parent Account and Parent Customer fields are unavailable. Therefore, you cannot associate the Account or Contact records with a parent account.
- If you add a field to the Bulk Edit form, this field will be unavailable when you use the Advanced Find feature to select many Contact or Account records. This problem occurs if the field has the OnChange event enabled.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the Parent Account and Parent Customer fields are unavailable when you select many Contact records or many Account records by using the Advanced Find feature.

Steps to follow after you install the update rollup
After you install the update rollup, update the BehaviorInBulkEditForm value in the .xml file for the field that you added to the Bulk Edit form. For more information about how to update this value, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Update Rollup 1 and in Update Rollup 1 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Professional Edition for Service Providers.
