INTRODUCTION

This article describes the Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated December 15, 2005.

Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue.

  • 912344 You cannot configure the time-out value of the OLEDB database connection in Windows SharePoint Services 2.0

This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

  • You experience unexpected behavior when you reply to a discussion board item in Flat view

    Consider the following scenario. You create a discussion board in a Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 Web site. Additionally, you configure the Flat view of the discussion board to show the Reply column. When you reply to a discussion board item in Flat view, you experience the following symptoms:
    • The reply is listed as a top-level discussion board item. The reply is not listed under the original discussion board item as expected.
    • In the Address bar of Microsoft Internet Explorer, the values of the Threading, Guid, and Subject parameters in the URL of the reply are missing. For example, the Threading, Guid, and Subject parameters in the URL of the reply are displayed as follows:

      Threading=&Guid=&Subject=&

    This issue occurs if the Flat view of the discussion board is configured to hide the Subject (linked to item with edit menu) column.

  • The sizes of document libraries are listed incorrectly on the Storage Space Allocation page

    When you view the Storage Space Allocation page of a Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 Web site, you notice that the size of one or more document libraries is listed incorrectly. The size that is listed on the Storage Space Allocation page is larger than the actual size of the document library.

    This issue occurs if the following conditions are true:
    • You enable document versioning for a document library.
    • Multiple versions of a document exist in the document library. That is, a user or several users have updated the document so that multiple versions of the document exist in the document library. For example, you may experience this issue after the third version of the document is created in the document library.
    In this scenario, Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 calculates the size of the document library incorrectly.
