SYMPTOMS

When you use an application that calls the NetUserGetLocalGroups function in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or in Microsoft Windows XP, the application may leak memory.

CAUSE

The application uses the NetUserGetLocalGroups function to retrieve a list of local groups to which a user belongs. The NetUserGetLocalGroups function does not free all allocated memory space if the user does not belong to any local groups.

RESOLUTION
