SYMPTOMS
When you start a program that accesses a universal serial bus (USB) 2.0 camera device, you receive an error message that is similar to the following:
Additionally, the program stops responding.
CAUSE
This issue occurs if one or more of the following conditions are true:
- You have other programs running that consume lots of memory.
- You have insufficient random access memory (RAM) installed on your computer to run programs that consume large amount of memory.
- Your computer experiences a low-memory condition.
WORKAROUND
To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods:
- Close other running programs that consume lots of memory.
- Install additional RAM on your computer.
- In the Virtual Memory dialog box, increase the amount of disk space that is available for the paging file.
Note When you increase virtual memory, the computer uses hard disk space as RAM. The computer uses virtual memory to augment the RAM that is installed on the computer.
- Restart your computer.
Note Increasing physical memory and virtual memory are long-term solutions. Restarting your computer flushes and frees RAM so that it is available for new programs.
