SYMPTOMS
When you print to a shared network printer, the following event may be logged frequently in the System event log of a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003:
Event ID: 20
Source: Print
Description:
Printer Driver PrinterDriverName was added or updated. Files: ListOfUpdatedFiles
You may also experience excessive bandwidth consumption.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the drivers for a shared printer are not installed on the client computer. The Windows Spooler service copies the drivers to the client computer and logs this event as an informational message.
You experience this problem even if no printer driver was added or updated on the client computer.
RESOLUTION
